Games of Divinity

The Games of Divinity are a mysterious pastime originally created and enjoyed by the Primordials. The overthrow of the Primordials and the installation of the Incarnae as the utmost rulers of Heaven was at least partially due to their desire to play the Games constantly and without the interference or overview of their Primordial masters. Only gods are allowed to play the Games now, and the Incarnae control which are admitted. The luckiest of all are not merely spectators, but might be favored enough to move a piece.
It is known that playing the game involves the movement of pieces on a board or field, and that being allowed to participate and touch the pieces is a mind-altering event of unutterable ecstasy. Dreamstones of playing the Games of Divinity, while illegal, are highly addictive and fetch insuperable prices. The Games take place entirely within the Jade Pleasure Dome near the center of Yu-Shan, and it is one of the best-guarded buildings in all of existence; five celestial lions guard each entrance, and those “lucky” enough to sneak past these sentries will almost certainly be obliterated by the powerful magical wards that lie within each archway.
The sky-dome of Heaven reflects a strong aspect of the Incarna that is currently “winning” the Games, resulting in extremely irregular lighting conditions in the Heavenly City.
